Spring

Spring

Spring is almost upon us. As I sit at the fire pondering my seed catalogues for this years cut flower garden I am filled with the hope and excitement of what’s coming over the next few months. This is always a hard time of year as a florist- the in between busy period of Christmas and down time before the hectic wedding season begins. Working at this time of year can be both cold and lonely, there isn’t much to see in the garden apart from snowdrops raising their little heads above the soil and the start of the daffodils and narcissi. In a month or two the Spring flowers will arrive and with them the hope of a new season, both as a gardener and a florist. Some of my favourites at this time of year are anemones, ranunculus and tulips, there are so many varieties and colours I am truly spoiled for choice and can’t wait to get designing for upcoming Spring weddings and elopements, in the meantime back to the catalogues so many seeds so little time!
